The "Locanda del Parco is located in the medieval part of Fontecchio, in via Palazzo, an ancient building of the 16th century, 25 km from L'Aquila, inthe heart of the Sirente-Velino Natural Park. The locanda has a direct, privileged view on the wildlife area, where it is possible to admire roebucks in almost complete freedom. It has bedrooms with services, and can offer breakfast meals in the elegant dining room. The building was restored with keen attention to the minutest architecture details, to keep faith to the 16th century original.

The warm, family atmosphere will allow you to experience the typical character of the Abruzzese people. The wide dining room will welcome guests to a tasty breakfast in the morning, and the modern kitchen is available to prepare your own meals during the day. In the dining room there is an ancient traditional fireplace and a stone watersink, as well as a picturesque, allegorical fresco on the wall.

Fontecchio, which was, according to the legend, the native place of Pontius Pilatus, and of 16th century architect Pico Fonticulano, autor, among other things of a fine city plan of Aquila.

The Stiffe grottos, among the best known Karst creation in Italy, with waterfalls and lakes, over 700 meters in the heart of a nearby mountain.
