History
The discovery of archaeological finds from the Roman period testifies to the presence of ancient settlements that continued in the Middle Ages with Germanic tribes as can be seen from the names of places as Torre la Fara and Fara. The oldest mention of the present village dates from the 14th century AD. From 1451 it belonged to the Barony of Monteferrante, and later passed under the d'Avalos, Pignatelli and Caracciolo families.
