Introdacqua
Province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy
On a hill between the di Contra and Sant'Antonio valleys, Introdacqua is dominated by the ancient medieval castle, one of the many sighting towers that visually connected Abruzzo to Naples, the capital of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Beautiful Palazzo Trasmondi, built by the ancient feudal Lords of the place, and the Church of Maria Santissima Annunziata also contain interesting works of art. A nearby archaeological area has shown traces of Italic settlements, and on Mount Plaia and Genzana rare wildlife specimens can be seen with a little luck.
