FEES AND ESTIMATES

Genealogy Research in Italy

Each Research is different

There are so many factors involved in a research, among them:

correctness of starting data
availability of records
expenses involved in collecting the information
cost of copies or photographs<
frequency or rarity of surname

Preliminary Stages

You will collect all possible information available to you from documents, records, family, and inform the researcher of your priorities; From your information, the researcher in Italy will acquire data on

what records are available in State Archives
what information can only be obtained on the place of origin (commune, parish, cemetery, residents)
how far back it may be possible to research
possibilities of finding relatives
expenses involved

On that basis you will be offered a range of payment options, by credit card or check, with a downpayment and separate payments if the research plan chosen by you exceeds 400 Euro.

Only certificates for citizenship

The service, if no research is necessary, will cost about 100 Euro including shipment to your address. If tha dates of birth or marriage you have are uncertain, research will be necessary and you will receive an estimate.

Research of relatives

The service may involve different procedures: research in archives, in the place of origin, visit the cemetery, write letters to residents or telephone. Fees from 150 Euro.

Fees in Euro - Research in the Civil Records

Available for the former Kingdom of the Two Sicilies back to 1809, for Central and Northern Italy from 1870-80 onwards - The fees involve copies of all documents and their translation in English, a chart and shipment to your address by UPS. After you order the research, we'll study the availability of resources, your aims, the information you already have, and you will be contacted with an estimate of the fees involved. The table below shows a range of possibilities, but the fees involved may be lower or higher.
