My cousin who lives near Venice,e-mailed me about this website and like all the others who have said so, I am very pleased to know about it. I have visited relatives in Castel DiSangro (Aquila) in 1990 and 1995. I hope to return soon and will use the Italian course that is a part of this website to brush up on my Italian. I am also looking forward to using the geneology services and others as well. I am looking for a recipe for a chocolate-almond cookie my grandmother and her friends made when I was a little girl. It also has subtle spice and coffee flavors. If anyone has this recipe, I would love to have it, make them and eat the cookies to my heart's content. Ciao!Rita M. Ciao a tutti. I happened to surf and found this wonderful site. I am glad I did, because I am proud to say that I am 100% Abbruzzese. I was born in a city called Sulmona, Provincia d' Aquila in 1963.
My family came to Canada in 1964. It was a toss between Canada or Australia. Oh well, Canada is nice! My Mom is from a town called Rocca Pia, Aquila and my Dad is from Teano, Provincia di Caserta, Napoli. I have been to Italy twice and I plan to return for a visit with my husband and my two girls. Keep up the good work on this site. Ciao:)Tiziana De Spirito <

My grandfather FRANCESCO SALLADINI, was born in Roseto degli Abruzzi, also my grandmother Candida Di Emilio-Salladini was also from Roseto. They emigrated to the USA and lived in Havre de Grace, MD where my father James Jacob Salladini was born. Eventually they settled in West Philadelphia, PA. Both my grandparents passed away in the 50's. My grandmother was about 86 and my grandfather was 89. I have been to Italy a few times and visited with my Di Emilio cousins but I am having difficulty connecting with the Salladinis. My husband SILVIO LUZZI recently passed away this year. He'd been to Italy 49 times. I have been there 8 times. When I get there I do not want to come back. Going there and EXPERIENCING ITALY and connecting with one's roots is like filling a gap that existed within you. One will never be the same ! Eilena Salladini-Luzzi <
