Hi - although I have no Italian connections, living in Scotland you're always aware of the number of Italian people settled here; this is a fascinating web site and a great community - congratulations!

I am looking for information about Aurelio Cianfarani, b. 1851 in Balserano, and his two sons, Aurelio Jr., b. 1874, and ?Phillip, b. 1876. I am confused because I remember hearing only about one of them, Aurelio Jr., from my mother-in-law. Her father came to the US in 1882, according to census records, and lived a time in Chicago. He was a tailor and a musician, but I may be confused about two. Her father took the name "Philip Farren" and lived most of his life in Columbia City, Indiana, where he is buried. I took the birth/death dates from cemetary information posted on the internet. The website that Marina Troiani has created has photographs of her Cianfarani family, one of whom could be a twin to the son of Phillip, who was Joseph Farren, another musician. My mother-in-law never knew where her father received musical training.
He was in the Army band during the Spanish American War, and later founded a high-school band and was it's director for many years. The website is at: http://web.tiscali.it/troianifamily/ By clicking on the photo in the center, a group of photos appear on the next page. The one at the top, left, is remarkable resenblance to the son, Joseph. If anyone has information to share, I would love to know more.

Hi - I have much family living in Ripa Teatina, Chieti, Italia. My mother was born and raised there, and now she lives in England with my father. I was born in England and lived there until the age of 22 when I married an American GI and moved to the States.

Just trying to get in touch with my family in Ripa Teatina -- hopefully someone will know the DiMartino family...there are many of them still in the Abbruzzi region.

Thanks and ciao.

Hello Tonino Faiella

I wanted to just say hello to you... My Father is Fabiano Faiella from Prezza. I just today found the Abruzzo website. My father and his brother Victor who lives in Canada went back to Prezza a few years ago. They said
the people still remembered them as they walked down the street. There are not many Faiella's around, it was nice to see my family name.. brought a smile to my face. Are there any more around? Is my father's or uncle's
name known by you or your familia !!?

Love and God bless

Ciao tutti. We just got back visiting our family in Roseto Degli Abruzzi, which in my opinion is the most beautiful part of Italy. My family lives in both Montorio al Vomano and Montepagano which is a smaller village within Roseto. During this time, we took a road trip from the north of Italy(Rimini, FLorence, Bologna, Milano,Sienna) to the south(Roma, Napoli and Amalfi). The entire country is gorgeous, great food, spectacular history and amazing women (wow!!) but Abruzzo definitely tops them all. Gorgeous beach, bars and clubs. Abruzzo....we miss you. Salute da Toronto. Ciao.
