My grandparents came from Abruzzo and last August I had the opportunity to visit the town of Gessopalena where my grandfather was born. My second cousin is the mayor of the town and we spent a few days with him and his family. We had a wonderful time. The Abruzzo regione is breathtakingly beautiful.
My husband and I can not wait to return. On my next visit I would also like to go to Gissi, the town where my grandmother was born. We loved the food, too!
