Ciao: I am trying to find where my grandfather came from. I believe it is in the Abruzzo/Agnone region. He married Elvira Recanatini. He emigrated to Ameica between 1850 to 1890. His name is Lorenzo DiMenna. I am told by trade he was a barber. When he came to America he had children: Inez, Ernest, Ronald, Rene, Edward (my father), and Matilda. I will be traveling in April to that region and would like to look up any living relatives. I lean toward believing he may have come from Agnone because there are familiar names such as Lorenzo, Michele, Raffaele and Lucia, living now in Agnone. I would appreciate any information you can give me. Many thanks.Elvira Muscolino < vitaminni

Hi! I am interested in obtaining information on my family history. I would like to connect with relatives living in Miranda, Italy or elsewhere. My grandfather was Charles Northen (Narducci). He and his brother Dominic came to Canada around 1890. They settled on Cape Breton Island and worked in a steel mill in Sydney. From there Dominic moved to Philadelphia, Penn. for some time and later moved back to Italy. My grandfather's name was changed to Northen when he moved to Canada. If anyone has any information regarding the Narducci family in Miranda, Italy I would appreciate hearing about them. Thank you.

My father arrived in Canada at the age of 19 in the middle 1960s. He was a resident of the town of Paglieta in the province of Chieti. I would like to congratulate the creator(s) of this website for you provide a meeting place for many immigrants and sons and daughters of immigrants to discuss their roots. Not only do you provide an avenue of discussion you also promote the education of the young generation about the past and about their origins. Hopelfully this will enable the children of the future to have a stake in knowing where it was that they came from and in turn understand the world better. I hope that at some point in time I may have some information that may be of use to someone in the future.Marco Scatozza < scatozza
