My mother Delia Di Medio (daughter of Antonio Di Medio and Celeste Di Guglielmo)is from "Civitella Messer Raimondo" (Prov. Chieti) and my father Quirino D'Alessandro (son of Giuseppe D'Alessandro and Concetta Di Guglielmo)is from a small nearby hamlet called "Gallo".

I also have relative that arrived in the US from Nereto. Their name was Bruno. My grandfather's name was Frank (Francesco?? or Franco??). He was married to Concetta Branella, also from Nereto I am told by my uncle. It seems that they settled initially in Wilmington, DE and then moved to South Philadelphia. I am not sure of the years yet.

I would appreciate any information about the Bruno's or Branella's from Nereto.

Hi, I'm researching my grandfather's history. I believe he was born in Torino di Sangro on July 26, 1910. On his birth certificate he is named Francesco Aulino. Other documents show his father's name as Mazarelli D'aloisio or Daluiso, and his mother's name as Maria Peluzzi. My grandfather immigrated with his mother in 1913 on the ship "Ancona" and eventually kept the name Frank W. Daluiso. Please let me know if you have any information to share. Grazie!

My name is Dennis Allen. My mother's family came from the Abruzzo region. My grandfather was Carmine Ursitti and my grandmother was Angela Maria [Calderone] Ursitti. Carmine's parents were Donato Ursitti and Maria Gelarda Antonucci. Angela Maria's parents were Salvantonio Calderone and Agata [Cera] Calderone.
Carmine came from Villetta Barrea and Angela Maria came from Barrea. Carmine had 3 brothers--Maro, Amedeo, and a brother we couldn't name. He had one sister--Pacifica.
Pacifica married and moved to Palermo. Amedeo moved there also. Maro moved to Joliet, Illinois and raised his family there. The fourth brother died in France during WWI. Carmine came to the U.S. and lived in Akron, Ohio. He brought Angela Maria[wife] and Maria Domenica [daughter] to the U.S. in 1921. There were two sons born and raised in the U.S. as well as Maria Domenica.
Can anyone help me continue this search for my family? I'm planning to take my family to Italy in the summer of 2006 to continue the search. Please contact me if you have information that could tie family members into the family tree.

What a GREAT web site! I am searching for anyone left in my children's paternal Grandfather's family.
His name was Filippo D'ANGELO from Maddaloni. His father's was Michele D'ANGELO and he had a sister named Olimpia D'ANGELO. Michele and Olimpia immigrated to the US in 1915, and settled in Plainsfield, New Jersey. Filippo D'ANGELO immigrated to the US in 1921 at the age of 22. He went to visit his sister Olimpia. We will be visiting Italy in late March 2005 and we hope to visit Maddaloni. The children and I would love to see where Flippo lived. We do not have any further information about the family members. Does anyone have any information you can share with us? We are really hoping to meet and visit with family members when we arrive in Maddaloni.

Rommel, the German commander in Africa during WW2, said "...the German soldier surprised the world, ithe Italian bersagliere surprised the German soldier..." ... when in Italy you call someone a "bersagliere" you mean he is strong, fast, energetic, usually also athletic and tall..
