My father Ugo Straccini was son of Madalena Straccini and Dottore di Batista. My father died in the war just months after I was born so that is all I know about his side of my family. I know my grandparents lived in Larino. My father grew up in Casacalenda. If you can help me find any cousins or aunts or uncles, please contact me

Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 21:21:45 US/ESTI am currently looking for a way to obtain an italian birth record. My great great grandfather's name was Anthony Filippone (i dont know if Anthony was his name in Italian). To the best of my knowledge he did not imigrate to the United states but his wife Michelino D'Amato(her maiden name) and his four sons Alberico, Camillo, Diadato, and Domenico(these names may be spelled incorrectly) did.
I believe that my great great grandfather was born in the town of Nocciano, which is located in the province of Pescara, which is in the Abruzzo region of Italy. The reason i have been having so much trouble getting the birth certificate is that i dont have an exact date when he was born or when he died. All i know is that he might have died sometime around 1905 because his wife arrived a widow and his youngest son Camillo arrived in the United States in 1912 (he was 7) which places his mothers pregnancy around 1905. Assuming the father died when Camillo was born then he died sometime around 1905.
*if you have any info at all regarding anything please contact me!! thanks,

Sun 19/11/6 02:39Hello...I would enjoy hearing from anyone whose roots are those of mine.. my dad born in Ortona de Mare in Abruzzi. He emigrated to America...settled in Pa...then the NYc area. I've been to Ortona a number of times and have not gotten used to seeing so many others with the same surname as mine...Basti...a name that is uncommon in the states.
