Friday, February 16, 2007 at 16:12:25 (US/EST)DiBona/Cocozza: My great-grandparents were from Filignano. Nicholas Di Bona, born in about 1854 and Anna Antonia Cocozza, born about 1858. Birthdates are approximate, per Ellis Island records. Anna had a sister, unknown first name, who married Gaetano Capaldo. The DiBonas worked in Paris, France for several years and eventually relocated to Philadelphia via Ellis Island. They were on the ship "Lombardia" whcih arrived in New York on February 5, 1903. I am looking for traces of both the DiBona and Cocozza families to establish who were Anna's and Nicholas' parents and siblings. Much inforamtion is already available but I cannot make any link because of not having data about either of their parents.

Sunday, February 04, 2007 at 20:21:25 (US/EST)I'm trying to track down my grandfather's lineage. I know he was born in 1897 or so in the Castelvecchio area, and immigrated to the US in 1900. His name was John DePasque, obviously changed, but not sure if it was originally DePasquale or DePasqua. His older brother was Antonio. Would love to hear from anyone having any info, and very interested to know if we have relatives still in the area, Thanks !

Saturday, February 03, 2007 at 03:21:33 (US/EST)We know that our relatives came from Civitella del Tronto and the name used to be Ferri instead of Ferro. My grandfather, Emilio and grandmother Dolorata had 7 boys. my father in the middle. There are many cousins, including some in Rochester who use the Ferri spelling. I have located some info on the Ellis Island site, but not exactly sure. We would like to hear from any relatives in Italy. Our other relatives are from Sant'Elia a Pianisi (maternal grandmother Rosa Testa) and from Siculiana, Sicily (maternal grandfather Giovanni Bissi). We have seen the photos on the websites; so very beautiful. Thanks,
