I am interested in corresponding with anyone living in Collelongo, Italy who might be distant relatives of mine. My grandfather, Carmine Casciere and grandmother, Marie Guglielmi both were born in Collelongo, around 1891 and 1896 respectively. My grandfather had 2 brothers, Frank (born 1871 in Collelongo)and Antonio. All three brothers came to the USA between 1910 and 1920 and settled in Pennsylvania. Also, my uncle, Bill Cashier, married Paulina Cesire (Jessie) Botecella born in Collelongo in 1930. Jessie's parents were Carl Botecella and Mary Cashiere. Any information would be helpful as I'm planning a trip to Collelongo in May. Thank you!

I will be going to Italy, Silvi Marina and Citta Sant'Angelo and I am wondering if anyone can help me out?
My Grandfather, Carminantonio Cichella was born in 1886 in Silvi, died in Canada. Relatives on my Grandfathers side are: Sante CICHELLA / Filomena DI LUZIO / Teresa COSTANTINI / Donat DI LUZIO / and Annanicola MOLINARI.
My Grandmother, Nicoletta Cichella(Amodeo) was born in Citta Sant'Angelo, died in in Canada.
I would like to go to the cemetary and see if I can find markers for the above individuals. What I need to know is where and how many cemetaries are there in either of these towns. Would also like to know who/where the records are kept for deaths in these towns? Thanks.

This is a message for Mr. Antonio Alfredo Varrasso: I am trying to find anyone who could tell me about my granfather's family in the Abruzzo area. My grandfather's name was Biagio Varrasso (it was spelled Varaso when he came to the United States in the early 1900's. I was told he had a sister who moved to Brazil. I also was told that his parents names were Cecilia Triani and John Varrasso. Could Mr. Varrasso be related to my grandfather?

Hi: My Grandfather was born in Collarmele in the late 1800s. His name was Enrico D'Alessandro. He left his town and his parents in 1907. His father's name was Daniel D'Alessandro. He had a sister Mary Giamberdino. I think she may have married in Collarmele before she came to the US. Her husband was Antonio. My grandfather also had a brother Luigi (Louis), a brother Antonio and a brother Daniel, who I think lived in the Pennsylvania area after coming to the US.
I would very much like to find out more about my family and get in touch with any relatives that may still be living in Collarmele. I think my great grandparents died in an earthquake, or at least that is what I seem to remember. They never left the town and died there.
I will be visiting Italy in October and plan to visit Collarmele. I would like to contact the village church and find out more about my grandfather's birth and family.

Hi!...ciao and buon Giorno!... I happened upon this site while looking for ancestry info. I am going to Italy in April and May of this year with family and we are hopint to find information on our ancestors. My mother was born in Chieti to Vincenzo Buccione and Lucia (nee DiGiovanni) Buccione. Lucia came from Catignano, both in Abbruzzi, my grandmother Lucia's mother was Domenica Renchia and her father was John I believe DiGiovanni, my grandfather's father was Agostino and his mother Philomena.
my father's family the Mascetta came from Palena, his father was Agostino and his grandfather DonatAntonio. He was named after him. My father's mother was Laurenza Medici from Caserta. Since we will be in Abruzzi for 2 weeks the end of April it would be great is someone had any info for us before we got there. We're staying at an apartment in Penne. Thanks.

My mother's maiden name was Di Benedetto and her mom and dad came from, what I am told, the town of Pescara. They immigrated to the USA in the early 1900's through, which I believe is New York City. My grandfather's name was Ponteleon Di Benedetto and he had 2 other brothers, Anthony and, I'm sorry to say that I don't know the other brothers name. They settled in Connecticut, one in New Britain, one in Southington and one in Hartford. Ponteleon married Maria Negal (not sure of the spelling of her last name). Possibly Negal could have been her middle name. The other family name that I know is Battaglia which could have been her last name. Many of their siblings still live in Connecticut. If there are any Di Benedetto's out there, I would be pleased to hear from you. Maybe there is a relationship somewhere in history that links us together.

I believe that I am 100% Italian. My family came from Barrea in L'Aguilla. They came to New York in the early 1900's. My grandfather was Falco Melone and grandmother was Plutilda Scarneccia - not sure about this spelling. Anyone related?
