My name is Robert De Lucia. My father, son of Silvio De Lucia, though born in the US, grew up in Rosello, Abruzzo as a child from age 3 to age 15. His name was Ottavio. He was there with his sister Clare, and his brother Anthony (deceased WW2). Ottavio revisited Rosello many times, starting in WW2, and later in the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's with me. He also revisited in the 1990's with his sister and cousins. I am looking to see if any of the De Lucia family still lives in Rosello, and hope to visit there again with my two sons.

Hi all, Thank you for having a great website.
I am trying to find my wifes family history, her father and mother were born
(We think) in Macchiagodena.
Her father was Michele Carile (dec) born May 6th 1921 and her mother is
Domenica Carile (Palermo) born June 18th 1920. They have three (3) daughters:
Angela Born in Macchiagodena, Maria Born in Macchiagodena, Lucia Born in Western Australia (This one I married).
They left Macchiagodena in the late 1950's dad first then mother in 1958 on the SS Neptunia.
We have very little information about their history in Italy and of the family
and would love to hear from anyone that knew of them or could direct me to where I could obtain birth, marriage certificates for them or of their parents, grandparents etc.
Thank you in advance for any information
Ciao a tutti,
Saluti

We think my grandfather Guiseppe Colasante(i) was born in Pescara. He and his cousin Frank Polici landed in Montreal ( 1918?) where they eventually married 2 Irish sisters ( O'Donovan).
My father was born in Montreal (1921-2003) the family moved west to Hamilton area, my grandfather started a lumber business however, shortly thereafter developed tuberculosis at age 28...He was quarantined for 5 years until his death. By necessity they moved east to Trenton area.
Any information would be helpful and obviously contact by Colasante(i) in the Pescara district would be great.

My grandparents, Donato and Katerina Santoro Tarinelli, emigrated from the Abruzzi region of Italia (I believe Popoli) to the USA, first in the early 1900's. They had two sons, Palmero in 1903, and Jessidia (my father) in 1906. They returned to Italia and came back to the USA in 1908. They had a son, Barnato, who died on the boat. Their next son who was born in the USA, and was also named Barnato after him. They lived in New York, (Katonah) where my father was born, and Bridgeport Connecticut. They eventually had two more children, John, and Ann. My family became quite successful in Connecticut, but now I am interested to know who my grandparents were and why they returned to Italia with a young family and then returned to the USA.
Sadly, my father, uncles and aunt are all deceased and I so want to learn about my grandparents.
Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hi. My name is Anamarie Terese Battistessa. I am 52 years old and currently living in California, USA. I was born September 30, 1956. I seek to find my family. I was adopted when I was 3 years old. I was adopted in Pescara Italy. I don't know for sure if I was born in Pescara, but I was told I had been at the orphanage for 3 years before I became adopted. I would like to find out the name of the orphanage which I was adopted from so that I might find out what was my biological surname. Please, please, if you have any information about orphanages or churches or adoption agencies which may have offered adoption in the year 1956, near Pescara Italy, please write. Thank you.

I have a picture of my Grandfather when he was a boy with his parents. The back of the picture it is written Giovanina Farina, Giacinda Ialenti, Annunzia, Luigi Pete Farina and Vincent James, who was my Grandfather. They came from Campolieto, town, Campobasso province. Someone was from Chieti Abruggi. I don't understand all the county, province, town situation, but some day I want to go find out. My Grandfather came to America and settled in Braintree Massachusetts. He married Marie Chiota. I don't know if I'm spelling my Grandmother's name correctly. I would like to find out her side of the family. She was related to Marchegiano, the heavyweight boxing champ. I met him when I was a little girl, along with my cousins and brothers. Some day I want to go to Campobasso. Then again, I think it would be too emotional for me. I loved my Italian Grandmother and father beyond reality. Thank you for this site. Grazie e Arrivederci.

I'm searching for Iannarellis in Abruzzo -- especially Pescocostanza My great grandfather, Alessandro Iannarelli, was born and raised in Pescocostanza mid nineteenth century. He worked with stone -- carving marble and also as a contractor for buildings and bridges. I believe his father's (my great-grandfather's) name was Giuseppe Iannarelli.
I would be very grateful for any information.

My name is Vittoria Rea, I was born in Isernia, Italy 1955. My parents, born in Italy, are Antonio Rea and Antonietta Rea. My grandfather was Santo Rea and Vittoria Rea. My mother's parents were Maria DelBianco and Celestino DelBianco. I have a lot of family still in Isernia. It has been a long time since I visited there and I can't wait to come back.
