Hello:
I'm looking for relatives and descendants of D'Andrea Ventresca of Introdacqua, Italy. He's my great-grandfather, father of Benjamin Ventresca. I believe that D'Andrea is son of John and Louise (DiPetro) Ventresca of Introdacqua. I think that D'Andrea was brother to Lawrence, Virginio, Bambina, Clementina, Anthony, and Joseph Ventresca.
D'Andrea immigrated to Cecile, Pennsylvania, but that relatives still live in the family home on Via G. Tommaso Ventresca.
The Best,

Buona navigazione !!!!!! Cordiali saluti dallo staff di rivisondoliantiqua.it

Ciao everyone, I have started to research my fathers family. My Grandfather was from Quadri, which I found to be between Abruzzo and Molise. He immigrated to NYC and then to the Finger Lakes Region of NY when he was in his early to mid 20's. He had a brother (Jerimiah?) who later moved to Argentina and a sister (Armine?) who resided in Geneva, NY. I have a copy of his passport, showing an early 1900 arrival. Does any one have any information on the Di Biose name from the Quadri area, or helpful ideas. Grazie Don De Bois

I am the granddaughter of Marricucci Salvati. She was the daughter of Philip and Filomena Salvati. They were married in 1860 in the village of Abbruzzi - Provincia Di Chiete known as Colledimacine. They had nine children: Luigi and Marricci (twins), Louisa, Anna, Antoinetta, Nicola, Milietta, Antonio and Carmela. My grandmother immigrated to the Unites States and married my grandfather Guiseppe Barone who was from the same town. I would be interested in finding out more about my heritage. I visited Italy two years ago and would like to return to the area where my paternal grandparents are from.

Such a great tragedy unfolding in Abruzzo. My partner Mario and I wrote a book on his childhood in the Abruzzo called CHEWING GUM IN HOLY WATER; it has many mentions of the wonderful city of L’Aquila that has now been so ravaged by this terrible earthquake. I have been there and love the place. Mario is there now in the midst of this earthquake crisis. Such a tragedy: great loss of life, a great wound for the Abruzzo people, and a significant loss of heritage. I grieve with them.

I am trying to locate the town my father and his family came from. I know it was Abruzzo, but not sure if it was Castel Di Sangro or Castellato. I do know that they town was know for their making of dishes, plates other type of ceramics. My father was born in 1900, his parents were Marie and Eugene Marconi, they left their town in either 1901 or 1902 to come to America. IN 1975 my father, Charles (sylvano) went back to the town, and gave his family the house that he was born in, his plans were not to go back to abruzzo to live. The relatives were very happy when he signed the home over to them. I am trying to find out about the Marconi Family and if there are any other relatives still living in Abruzzo.

I would like any information on the little town of Torrebruna in the Province of Chieti in Abruzzo. My grandfather, Felice Ferrara, came to Ellis Island around 1910. My grandmother, Maria Nicola Franchella, came over to America a few years later. Their name was changed from Ferrara to Ferro. They had 7 children and my father, John, was the youngest. J fasolo....my grandfather was Francesca Durantini, my grandmother was Maria Pavone. They were from the village of Castilenti. They married and arrived on Ellis Island in 1913 aboard the SS Canada. My father, was named after Francesco's father Massimo, and he was the oldest of eight children. My Aunt Elizabeth, the youngest Durantini, researched and then she and her husband went to Italy and found cousins and aunts in 1989. I believe she still communicates with them and has been back to attend weddings. I have a list of e-mail addresses of relatives she had forwarded which I will try and locate. We must be related somewhere along the line...welcome!

My grandparents immigrated to the US in 1910. They were from the town of San Buono. My grandfather's name was Dominic Paganelli and my grandmother's name was Caterina Paganelli. Her maiden name was Noe. I am wondering if anyone can advise me as to how to find out if I have any relatives still living in the region or how I can find records of my grandparents births, marriage. My aunt was born there also. Her name was Clara Paganelli. She was around the age of three when they left San Buono. She later married Angelo Delnegro who was also from San Buono. I have discovered that there are still people with this surname in San Buono but do not know how to find out if we are related. Any assistance would be very much appreciated. Sincerely,

My father was born to Dominick Esposito from Gessopalena and Anna Melchiorre, although I don't know where her people were. They immigrated to the United States, but some of their 10 children were born in Italy, but I don't know which of my aunts and uncles were born there. My dad was the youngest of the ten. If anyone knows anything about these origins I would really appreciate hearing from you. I do understand that there is some family still in Gessopalena, although I'm not sure how we are related. Great Web site! I enjoy seeing familiar family names I often heard while growing up in Rosario, Argentina, and Astoria, Queens, NY. My father was Luigi Catalano (Serafina Fosco was his mother.) My mother was Alba Maria Catalano (Carmela Saraceni was her mother.) They met in Argentina and married in 1942 and had two daughters--Betty and me. We relocated to NY in 1956 and in 1980 to Charlottesville, VA. Cicone (sp?) was the family nickname. The Catalano family is from Orsogna, but unfortunately, I don't know where they originate. I visited Orsogna in 1963 and again with my Dad in 1996 shortly before he passed away. I'm glad we took this trip together.

It was through this site that I made contact with relatives in Barrea, and eventually traveled to meet them and see the village my parents had left, individually and seven years apart, as children. I stood at the door to the house where my mother was born and lived with her mother while they waited (for six years) to join my grandfather in the U.S.; I met my late father's two living brothers (emotional!) and my wonderful cousins. My sister and I went right back the next year and will go again, probably next year, even if it bankrupts us, because we are in love with the town of our roots and with the "missing half" of our family. I wish everyone who yearns to know about their past could do as we did!
