I would love to find my family. My grandfather, Alberto Jannetti (Iannetti) was born and raised in Cellino Attanatsio and moved to Philadelphia Pa around 1912 when he was 16. His dad was Ercalano and was a cabinet maker. He also had two brothers John and Ralph. Any leads would be so appreciated. I see there are 4 Iannetti families still living in Cellino Attanasio. I am researching my husband's family. His paternal great great grandparents were from Castiglione Messier Marino.
The grandfather was Benjamin Tielli 1851- about 1905. He died before his wife immigrated to the US.
The grandmother was Maria Domenica Marchese B 1852 in Italy and died about 1934 in USA - Dunmore PA area. Their children, all born in Italy were Nicola, Francisco, Antonio, Marianna and Teodora Tielli. Maria Marchese immigrated to the USA in 1905 with her daughters Marianna and Teodora. They resided in Dunmore PA, USA. Marianna married another Italian immigrant. Nicolino DeYulio (Di Iulio???). He immigrated in 1904.
I am looking for any additional information on the Marchese / Tielli family from in or around Castiglione Messier Marino.

I am so happy to have found this! Both my grandfather (Camillo Mingone) and my grandmother (Gloria Breda) come from Villa Santa Maria. I have always been interested and loved listening to the stories grandma would tell of growing up there. She has just turned 95 and is still tough as nails. I grew up in the kitchen and cooking has always been MY LIFE. It is what has always bonded my family for generations. To read all about the tradition of cooking in their homeland is AMAZING! It is something I never knew. I guess it has always been in my blood to be this way. I hope one day to see it in person!!! Aimee Mingone < argreenbaum

As a young man my great grandfather entered a monastery, but left before taking final vows. I would like to verify that he entered with the name Pasquale DiCesare and changed his name to Giovanni which he kept after leaving the monastery. He may have entered the Benedictine Abbey in San Benedetto in Perillis, 8 to 10 miles south of his birthplace San Pio delle Camere. Ther are several other monasteries in Abruzzo. John J.
