Wonderful Website. I try to check it out each day. The more I research my family, the more interesting names I come across. Would love to make contact with Cavicchia, Martinelli from Lettopalena and with Falcone families from Colledimacine. These are my parents names. Also would like to find decendants of Michele DiPietrantonio who lived in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1906.Others in the family were Alfredo & Olimpia. I believe Michele was a very close relative of my mother.

Dear fellow Abruzzese:I can't tell you how happy I was to receive an invitation to join this Abruzzese association. My grandfathere, Attilio Radomile was born in the small town of Villalfonsina, outside of the coastal town of Vasto, in the province of Chieti. Our family lived there for 200 years, some 7 generations. The family arrived in Italy in 1500 from Bosnia and lived in the town of Polignano a Mare in Apulia (near Bari) for another 200 years before moving to Abruzzi. The family name was Radolowick before it was italianized to Radomile around 1700 in the provencial capital of Chieti by Cardinal Nicola Radolowick. My grandmother, Lucia Ciampoli, was born in Ortona a Mare, province of Chieti, and married my grandfather there in February 1910. In June of that year, they arrived in Philadelphia. I have cousins in the following towns in Abruzzi, Bomba, Casalbordino, Torino Di Sangro, Montenerodomo, Pescara, Ortona a Mare, Crecchio, Paglieta, Vasto. Also in Rome and Pesaro. Please feel free to contact me and please visit my Italian cultural web site at: http://www.italianheritage.net - This site will tell you about my new book entitled "HERITAGE Italian-American Style. It is a compendium of 1492 questions about all the significant contributions made by Italians and Italian-Americans to western civilization in five major categories, from science to entertainment, art to food. And much, much more. I am still collecting bits of information about our great Italian culture, so if you have something that you feel is important, please visit my web site and contact me. Again, this is a wonderful site - I look forward to hearing from my fellow Abruzzese.
