Sat, Jan 29, 2011We plan to visit Manoppello Italy in the fall of 2011. We are hoping to locate Distance cousins.
My grandfather was Domenico DiLuca, born 1848 in the town of Turrivalignani Italy, died 5/5/1907. He married Maria Salvatore. My father Antonio DiLuca was born 6/19/1896 died 8/4/1967. He probably lived in the adjacent town of Casalincontrada??? He came to America in 1912 arriving in Boston, Massachusetts. He had a brother Billy. He lived in Pennsylvania. His wife came from same area, Lionora aka (antonnette) Neste. She was adopted. The only name we located was Donata Dinardo, this was from her Social Security number in the USA. She was born 6/20/1895, came to America 1918.
We would appreciate any infomation. Thanking you in advance

Sat, Jan 29, 2011I am searching for my grandfather salvatore palumbo. His wife's name is either oioisa, louisa or loisa. I found my grandmother who came in on her maiden name of Salpietra. She came with my aunt Giuseppa, Epifania, and my father Giuseppe. There was also a little girl by the name of Antonina, whom i have never heard of in my family. All are deceased now.
I am trying to put together a family tree for my children to have, as I am 75 years old and would like to have this in order for them.
Now, comes the difficult part. On my grandmother's ships manifest it reads that she came over on the Sardegna on 11 june 1902. But, no sign of my grandfather. Either he came earlier or later. But went through all the Palumbo's in ellis island with no success. Their residence that was shown on the ships manifest was corelone.
If there is anyone who could help me it would be greatly appreciated. I was born in the usa and do not speak, read or write in Italian.

Fri, Jan 7, 2011My grandparents, Pietro D'Amico and Maria Carmella Cetrone D'Amico were born about 1887, and came to the United States in 1909. They had 12 children and my mother was one of their children. Maria's father was Fabian Cetrone and her mother's maiden name was Di Christofaro. (not sure of spelling). My sister and I spent two days in Barrea in July 2010 and it is a beautiful place. We met a few people with the surname D'Amico, but did not have a car and we were there on a weekend, so we did not learn anything about my mother's family. If you have any information about the ancestry of Pietro and Maria -- or any connection to these family names, please contact me.
