I was born in Pettorano Sul Gizio, which is just outside Sulmona. Came to the USA when I was 8 years old with my parents. My Dad and Mom Anna D'Amato were born in Pettorano. My grandfather was born in Sulmona in the section called Casa Di Censo/Casa Di Ommi, which is a section of houses just off of Via Cavata on the road to Sulmona.

I researched while I traveled back a few times to Italy and the last name was really Di Censo. But when someone comes to the USA it could have been changed to Di Cenzo, De Cenzo, Di Cienso, or even De Cenzio.
Mine is correct- the last Name is Di Censo, I was able to develop my family tree and went back to my greatgrandfather Rafaele Di Censo. My grandparents last name on my mother side were - Maria Ventresca, and Conzezio D'amato all born in Pettorano - but in a group of houses called Ces Marzano on a hillside.
I still speak Italian and visit on occasion Italy to see my cousins. It's great to see where I was born but not many persons are left there. Anyone wishing to know more about the name Di Censo and D'amato e-mail me. Ciao!

I am trying to find information on my Great Great Grandmother. I believe that she was originally from Gagliano Aterno. Her name was Laura Voce. In about 1900 she moved to Roccasale with her children but not her husband. There she acquired the name Laura De Simone. I don't know if she got remarried or went back to her maiden name. I would love to find out any information about her and her husband. Thank you,

My father, Frank Vincent DiNino, came to the USA in about 1902. I know that he had a brother or perhaps two brothers that also came to the USA. My father was a clarinet player in Italian bands in the NYC area for awhile. He eventually was band director at Ely High School in Ely, Minnesota. I know nothing else about my family. If anyone has any information, please contact me.
