Greetings from the US--Does anyone have any information on the Cianci family from Roccascalegna? As of approx 1924 a great grandmother would have still lived there--according to family records of travel back to Italy.
Any information would be appreciated! Thank you! Shelli Cianci < vivashell88

Hello, Wanted to know if there are relatives of the Salamones, bernardis or Galluccis in Barisciano. Luigi and brother Alessandro Salamone came to Usa around 1909. My Grandmother was Giovanella Gallucci, sister, Palma, brother Guiseppe and brother Natali, who lived in a cave in Barisciano. Her parents were Paufido and Carmela (di Franco) Gallucci. Paufodo was deceased by 1911. Luigi's parents were Frederico and Luiga Salamone. Related to the Pasqualle Bernardi family. Please help. Thank you, Donna donna burbidge < donna_solomone

My grandparents were from Pettorano Sul Gizio. My Grandfather's name was Cesidio Donato Susi and my Grandmother's name was Teresa Ranalli. love them both very much though they died many years ago. Once they left Italy in the early 1900's they never returned to Italy which I know brought them great sadness - never to see their parents again. But they raised eight of their own children (one of whom was my father, Umberto) and helped raise the children of my Grandmother's sister, who died when her children were very young. The lived in Lewis Run, Pennsylvania a small village in a valley in the hills of Pennsylvania. I would love to know if there are any direct descendents of my grandparents' family. I also love to see a photo of some Susi's if possible. Ciao! Barbara Susi Goodwin < sameoldbs

Am planning a small tour of Italy in 2012 (late June-early July) with Remo Faieta as our tour guide. Our relatives were from Pettorano sul Gizio, a small town just 6 miles south of Sulmona at the foot of the mountains. Surnames from that area include: Tecca, Martino, Bonitatibus, Ginnetti, Boneventura, Trombetta, Ferrelli, Federico, Pace, Panza, Oddi, Suffoletta, Spagnoli, Beraducci, Checca among others. Would love to have a small group interested in genealogy research to include several days with Remo as interpreter in Pettorano. Trying to find contact info for gabriele paolini, MD Pescara, Abruzzo Italy who graciously toured Jeanne & myself around a number of places between Pescara and Pettorano sul Gizio several years back. I am looking for a family connection to my grandfather, Nicola Salvatore. I have reason to believe he may have been born in this area. His birthdate is 1874 or so. He migrated to USA in about 1890. None of his history shows exactly where he was born. Migrated to the USA in about 1890. Mother's name was Concetta DiMena. Father's name was Vincenzo Salvatore. If anyone can help, please send information. Thank you.Jeannine Salvatore Cosenza < jsc358
