The total change of life, the new starting point. In front of imminent danger, the first thing to do is save everyone, life is irreplaceable. In the forced Ark where now the displaced are living, it is the right moment to let the earthquake ruins cover the strifes and rows of the past - there are so many in the villages and within families - and look at each other with new eyes. Look at each other in the eyes. See the irreplaceable human being. If we cannot do this, we won't survive as a community. The proud Eagle and villages will become ghost towns. Sure, it is possible for some of the displaced to go away, build a new life and find new jobs elsewhere. In this sudden change of life, solutions are possible for isolated individuals.
But the roots? The roots will not come with you. The roots are deeply interlaced with the soil, the place you were born, the church of the First Communion, the schoolfriends, the corner where in silent complicity as a teenager you gave the first kiss. The pizzeria where you had your first dinner out with the companion of your life, the altar where you joined your spouse, where you planned long years of shared moments, where you wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary and with God will more. The hospital room, up there in the ruins, where as a mother you gave birth to your children, the smiling faces of the doctors and nurses saying "it is a beautiful baby girl". And the small cemetery where your dear ones rest, since when you accompanied there, in peace in the shadows of the guardian mountains, the quiet cemeteries where new spring flowers are blossoming. And the roots are now also that broken roof that killed your aunt, the bricks and debris that stopped the breath of your friends' child. It is now the time of mourning all those who could not make it into the Ark.
When Noah's ark is safe on land again, the creatures must get out and repopulate the earth. Each of them is necessary in the texture of the community, if one goes away, a large piece of the total will become a dead branch. When the Ark is on safe ground again, we must brace ourselves and repopulate "our" Earth.
