Roccaspinalveti - The Vatican and the tragedy of cereal-allergic priest / Il parroco affetto da una grave forma di intolleranza alimentare

Don Silvio Santovito, parish priest of Roccaspinalveti, cannot tolerate the wheat in the Host. Two years ago he was hospitalized in Rome with a severe malnutrition syndrome, having dropped from 90 to just 60 kg. Monsignor Edoardo Menichelli allowed him to take communion just with the wine, but the consecration should be celebrated by another priest. The problem for the priest is not solved however: 30 years old, 6 ft tall, don Silvio would like the Vatican to allow him to consume a host made with another kind of flour.

Pescara - Accused of theft robs his laywer in court / Durante l'udienza deruba il suo avvocato
Lawyer Melania Navelli was defending a young man accused of stealing the purse of a municipality clerk, saying he had found the purse on a bus. Once back in jail, the defendant was searched and found with the lawyer's wallet, containing 350 mila lire. The lawyer renounced her mandate.

Catignano - Great feast for the new parish don Peppino / Festa per il nuovo parroco, by Alessandro Iannetti
Don Peppino Maione reached Catignano at 17 last Saturday, and was met by old don Alessandro Di Giovannantonio. Then in a procession, followed by his new parishioners, he went up to San Giovanni Battista, where he celebrated his first official Mass. There's great hope the new young parish will offer a leadership to Catignano's youth. Don Peppino, 35, was for a year vice-parish priest for the church of Santa Teresa d'Avila, in Santa Teresa di Spoltore, where people cried when he was called away to his native place, near his beloved parents.
