MESSAGGERO - Bolognano - Mourning for the wine king / È morto Ciccio Zaccagnini, re dei vini
Francesco Zaccagnini, known to everybody as Ciccio, has made his wine famous all over the world. He passed away yesterday afternoon at 79 years of age. A man of ancient wisdom with a modern intelligence, he was able to change a local tradition into a world-acclaimed winery. A recent wine takes its name, Ciccio, from him. Another feat for which he was always proud is when in Russia he saved another soldier, Peppino Prisco, (the vice-president of Inter soccer club) carrying him on his shoulders.

IL CENTRO - - Scanno - Feast with the "sagne di sant'Antonio Barone" / Oggi le sagne di Sant'Antonio Barone
Traditionally, on the 17 january the rich families in Scanno offered to the poor a rich dish of "sagne", seasoned with ricotta and blessed by the priest. The rite still goes on, and many will go with their bowl and fork to have their share from the enormous pot boiling in the open air.
