Hermit Pietro del Morrone, later Pope Celestine V also visited the lettese mountains. To commemorate that Nino Di Pietrantonio, former Post Director and stone carver will carve a statue from a 2-mt-high, 2000 kg heavy white stone, that he would like to be placed at Fonte del Papa, where the hermit often paused to rest.

A silent audience listened in Teramo to the memories of Auschwitz survivor Pietro Terracina, on the anniversary of the liberation. Pietro was taken by the Germans with his mother, father and brothers, and for seven days he was in a carriage for animals. He had a final glimpse of his mother in the camp, after which he never saw his family again. He said to the listening youths: «freedom is not something you gain once for all - the horror may return».
