Giacomo Soffiaturo, 65, kidnapped in Venezuela by FARC guerrilla fighters last july, was finally released after a ransom of 9 billion Lire. Soffiaturo has 6 siblings in Italy, a sister in Canada and 2 brothers in Venezuela with whom he started in Barquisimeto a fireworks distribution, to establish a cattle and agricultural enterprise later on.

IL CENTRO - - L'Aquila - 25 vestini tombs found at Bazzano / Scoperte altre 25 tombe dei vestini a Bazzano , by Angela Baglioni
The tombs are from the 8th - 7th century B.C. There are also children's sepulchres and very rich ornaments. The findings reveal an Eastern influence, according to archeologist D'Ercole, which was not very common in Abruzzo. The tombs were discovered while in Fossa an international congress was being held, and many archeologists gathered to have a first hand glimpse of the excavations.
