Rocks, solitude, like in Pietrelcina. Calascio is the set for the story of Francesco Forgione (padre Pio). Actor Michele Placido, from Apulia too, has breakfast in the morning already dressed as a friar.

Pietracamela - Historical exhibition / Mostra su Pietracamela
The students of a programmers' school in Teramo worked five months to study through the archive manuscripts and documents on the origin of Pietracamela, founded according to the tradition by refugees from Brindisi, whose patron saint Leucio is also the patron saint of this place.

Treglio - Twinship with Hamilton / Gemellaggio canadese
Many citizens from Treglio moved to Hamilton in the XX century, keeping their traditions alive and contributing to the economy of the canadian town. Aim of the twinship is to keep the connection alive. On 12 July in Hamilton the two mayors, Marco D'Alessandro and Robert Morrow, will sign the agreement.

Guardiagrele - The remains of patron san Nicola in a procession / Le spoglie del compatrono San Nicola in processione dopo 12 anni
The remains of San Nicola Greco, kept in Guardiagrele since 7 august 1338 will leave the church of San Francesco for the Jubilee. The occasion is repeated every 25 years, and traditionally the balconies of via della Penna will be embellished with croquet and embroidered blankets.

Pietranico - 1944 tomb found again / La tomba ritrovata casualmente nel cimitero

Vincenzo Mucciante, A carabiniere killed in 1944, during a brawl between partisans and fascists, in a pub in Pietranico. The seven responsible were sentenced to prison, but the tomb was forgotten until some days ago during maintenance work in the cemetery it was discovered again. A solemn ceremony was held for a new, restored tomb.

Abbateggio - Pilgrimage from San Lorenzo / Pellegrinaggio dalla parrocchia di San Lorenzo

As long time ago, a group of pilgrims left at dawn for the Volto Santo, Manoppello, carrying the statue of the Madonna dell'Elcina. For a long time the long walk was abandoned in favour of cars, but now everybody is happy to have restored the ancient custom.
