2000 years ago Ovid published his Ars amatoria, which became a bestseller in his age. In a society full of bigotry Ovid offered youths a love manual. Soon the book was censored and Ovid ended his days in exile in Tomis, on the Black Sea. His poetry greatly influenced all the western world, from Shakespeare to Ezra Pound.

Tocco da Casauria - Arcangelo Carbone from yoga to sculture / Arcangelo Carbone, dallo yoga alla scultura
Arcangelo Carbone, 33, from Tocco Da Casauria, sculpted in a great stone inserted in the facade of a house in via Ramai an angel inspired to him by William Blake, sittting and with the hands raiset upwards, to signify that man can lift his spirit, and below a serpent symbolizing ancestral energy. Aracangelo took four years to finish his work.

Casalbordino - Thousands to the sanctuary / Migliaia in processione al santuario
A Jubilee procession starting from Pollutri at 17 reached the Madonna dei Miracoli in Casalbordino at 20, to hear the Mass celebrated by Edoardo Menichelli. The sanctuary dates back to 1576 when during a terrible hailstorm a very religious farmer saw the Virgin Mary and his harvest was saved.

Raiano - Program of the 45th Cherry festival / Migliaia di turisti per la 45esima "Sagra delle ciliegie"

This June 4th the 45th edition of the Cherry Festival, Raiano cherries, called "duroni", are highly appreciated. On Saturday 27 a wine selection, dialect poetry review, and music in piazza Postiglione. On Sunday morning band group "Città di Introdacqua", the 20th "Marcia delle ciliegie" and in the early afternoon parade of allegorical waggons.

7th D'Annunzio prize to Woodhouse and oliva / Premio D'Annunzio a Woodhouse e Oliva
John Woodhouse, Oxford professor of Italian Literature, was awarded the prize for his biography "Gabriele D'Annunzio, Arcangelo ribelle", Gianni Oliva for his "Lettere ai Treves". Prof. Woodhouse also authored the English translation of "Alcyone". Gianni Oliva, Professor of Letteratura italiana at the university of Chieti-Pescara is an acclaimed scholar of the Abruzzese poets.
