MESSAGGERO - French environmentalist study wolves in Abruzzo / Pna, i francesi imparano a salvare i lupi
In the 1970's endangered with extinction, Appennine wolves thanks to the "San Francis Operation" are now prosperous again. Ecological federation France Nature Environnement want to emulate the strategies adopted in the National Park of Abruzzo.

MESSAGGERO - - Atri - Exhibition on the mysteries of the Holy Shroud / Il sacro mistero della Sindone in un'esposizione a palazzo ducale, by Marco Mutoschi
Until July 23 (opening hours: 16-20 and 21-23 all days) in palazzo ducale D'Acquaviva, exhibition "Sindone e scienza" will show visitors all the stages in a 2000-year long mystery through paintings, photos, ancient coins. The exhibition was organized by a research group from Robbiate (Lecco).

In the Parco della Quercia Rossa today the traditional event with the ancient rites preceding the cattle fair, an appointment since the early 1800. Cattle traders came to Bussi from all the Pescara valley and settled under the so-called "Bettole", kind of wooden huts, to start their contracts.

A great many people came to celebrate the blessed friar. last sunday 700 people walked up the steep path leading to Valle dei Preti where parish priest don Antonio Lattanzio inaugurated a chapel to Beato Mariano, then proceeded to the holy spring called "La Fonticella", famous for the miracles of the Franciscan friar, born in Roccacasale in 1778 and deceased in 1866.

Two-day excursion from Villa Scontrone to Pizzoferrato organized by the 'Cavalieri del Sangro' through the Aremogna, passing near Roccaraso, then along the sentiero del Sole, up to Piana del Re, Pietre Cernaie and Monte Secine at 1800 m a.s.l. On Sunday visit to the 'falesie' and to finish a parade through the streets of Pizzoferrato.
