Biochemist Mauro Maccarrone was selected by the Esa (European Space Agency) for experiments in the "parabolici flights" to perform special experiments on enzymatic activity in a no-gravity environment. In 1986 Muro won another contest with his project "Un esperimento nello spazio" which however could not be performed.
