Two festive days organized by immigrants' association Cristobal Colòn. Descendants of immigrants to Latin America that have come back to Abruzzo are trying to recreate in Penne the magical South American atmosphere.

Campli - festival of "porchetta" and black truffle / Sagra della porchetta italica
e mostra sul tartufo nero della Laga
Campli is renowned for the tradition of the porchetta. The festival will continue up to 20 August. On the occasion also an exhibition of black truffle from the Laga mountains.

Chieti - An association for the castles / Il "Baule" rilancia i nostri castelli,
ma anche i matrimoni in costume
Aim of the association is to rediscover the 700 castles in Abruzzo by means of medieval re-enactements and costume weddings. The four founding members are busy collecting manuscripts and legends. These days they are in Montereale for the celebrations of the visit of Margaret of Austria. In the next days also a real medieval wedding in Latin, with spouses and guests in costume.

Medieval games and dishes, acrobats and fire-eaters ready for the Mastrogiurato week, from this Sunday to September 3rd, to re-enact the glorious medieval market-fairs held in Lanciano in the past.

Many consider Alessandra D'Andrea, 24, the heir to great mosaic master Bruno Zenobio. She is working now in her grandmother's house, where she cuts almost all her pieces by hand. Her passion is to make pieces of religious subject.

From tomorrow to August 21. On Sunday a renaisance festival from 19 to 24 in the ancient borough of Mons Regalis, then at 22 flag-bearers from Amelia. On Monday 22 historical parade and Joust of the Rings with the four ancient quarters of San Lorenzo, San Giovanni, Santa Maria and San Pietro.
