Throughout August Leslie Wexner has stationed his 50-mt-long yacht before the coast of Pescara, to meet personal tailor Mario Caraceni, native of Ortona but living in Milan, this month on holiday in Pescara with his wife Rachele de Vincentiis.

San Sebastiano di Bisegna - Feast for Saint Gemma / Commozione per Santa Gemma
After six hundred years the body of Santa Gemma returns to San Sebastiano from Goriano Sicoli, where the poor family of the saint moved with only six sheep. Beautiful Gemma rejected the attentions of the Count of Celano, requesting him to build a hermitage for her, where she lived the rest of her life.

Fara San Martino - Pasta festival / Sagra della pasta
Today and tomorrow great festival in the world's pasta capital. Chef Levino suggests: today, fusilli with zucchini and ricotta sauce, festive linguine with champignons, prosciutto and peas, cut zita with Lombard sauce; tomorrow spaghetti with lamb ragout, penne with salmon, mezzi rigatoni with eggplants, mushrooms and zucchini cream. Who's still hungry can taste barbecued sausages. Tomorrow a track'nfield race and entertainments for everybody.

Historical re-enactement of the gestures of Giacomo and Antonio Caldora from Pacentro who distinguished themselves in the wars between the Anjou and Aragonese in the 15th century. Medieval music, tournament, and a dinner with a medieval menu.

Pretara - Feast of Santa Colomba / Il cardinale Tonini alla festa in onore di Santa Colomba
Santa Colomba of the counts of Pagliara lived in the early 12th century; she was the sister of St. Berardo, and lived as a hermit on Mount Infornace. In 1955 her urn was carried to the church of San Donato. Today at 11 cardinal Esilio Tonini will celebrate solemn Mass, then a historical parade will follow.

Penne - The Joust of the Six Quarters / Torna la Giostra dei sei rioni

The Giostra dei sei rioni is based on the legend of Itarcus, a Syrian prince, and his two sisters, fair-haired Rocca and dark-haired Bruna. After marrying Rocca settled on the Colle Sacro and Bruna on the Colle Castello. Their descendants started a feud, so the bishop established a joust whose prize was the control of the town.
