Carlo Vivio, the trainer of the Italian Swimming Team to the Olympics, is waiting for more victories. He is especially proud of one of his best athlete, Massimiliano Rosolino, who he often brought to L'Aquila. The sports master, 53, son of a boxer, sends his greetings from Sidney.

Like every year thousands of faithfuls will go to San Giovanni Rotondo for the anniversary of Padre Pio's death. In Montebello di Bertona there is a special chapel devoted to the saint friar, and also Francesco Gentile will be there. The artist, after an enlightening meeting with Padre Pio, only painted subjects connected to him, now appearing in many international museums.

The private archive of the De Petris-Fraggianni family will be presented this Sunday at the Archivio di Stato in Pescara. Documents included are from 1600, and tell the story of the rich family and their possessions, Castiglione alla Pescara, and other feifdoms in L'Aquila, Sulmona, Pratola Peligna, Napoli and Barletta.
