The mass media are spreading the gastronomy culture of Villa Santa Maria and the Sangro Valley, bringing new development to the area. Before the Gastronomy rave began, Villa Santa Maria, Roio del Sangro, Fallo and Montelapiano were facing extinction. Now many new restaurants have been established, and at the istituto alberghiero dozens of new cooks and hoteliers study each year. Many recipe books have also appeared.
