A new project called "Le vie dei lupi" aims at rediscovering those forgotten paths used not only by the men but also by the wolves coming down to the valleys in search for food.

MESSAGGERO - - San Vincenzo - Giuseppe Testa, gold medal / Non disse i nomi, fu trucidato, by historian Alvaro Salvi
Giuseppe Testa from Morrea, municipality of San Vincenzo Valle Roveto, was shot by the Nazis on 11 may 1944 at the age of 24. After the armistice he had been arrested, then escaped with many others and joined the partisans. He was captured but did not reveal the names of the other partisans and chose to die.

IL CENTRO - - Pescosansonesco - The haunted road / I misteriosi saliscendi
In the past they spoke of haunted road. Now scientists think there is a magnetic field. Leaving Castiglione a Casauria towards Pescosansonesco, a driver thinks the road is descending, but if he stops, the car starts to roll backwards. Scientists are trying to explain the mystery.

IL CENTRO - - Pratola - Still more Emigration / L'emigrazione non si arresta, by Mariagrazia Fabrizi
119 pratolani left their town this past year. In the 1950's and 60's over 300 left each year for France, Germany, Argentina, Venezuela and the United States. Today's emigrants are not leavig with cardboard suitcase, but with a university degree.

MESSAGGERO - Isola del Gran Sasso - National Alpini reunion / Raduno nazionale degli alpini
On 17 and 18 february in Isola Alpini from all over Italy will gather to commemorate all those who never returned from the battle of Nikolajewka, Russia in WW2. To the ceremony thousands of former Alpini are expected.
