13 March/marzo 2001 MESSAGGERO - Australia of the Abruzzese / L'Australia degli Abruzzesi, by Giovanni Pace I found what I expected: caring and hospitable citizens, striving hard to maintain their traditions. I could witness their Italian style: determination, hard work, creativity. The fathers struggled under terrible conditions, and organized themselves in Abruzzese clubs, the children are professionals, managers, common workers, but hardly show a link to their history in their everyday life.
