Another Abruzzese victim at the World Trade Center. The pilot of the American Airlines Boeing 767 which hit the first Twin Tower was Victor Saraceni, 51, born in America from parents native of Orsogna. On the same plane another descendant of Orsognese, Vincenzo Trentini, 65. And Marisa di Nardo, 39, at work on the 105th floor in the First Tower, is missing. Emigration from Orsogna was massive after WW2 due to the great destruction brought about by the war.

To honor the Abruzzese victims, and all the missing in the tragedy of the World
Trade Center, Antonio Carlucci, the President of Boston Orsogna Club, is organizing a ceremony the coming 30th september at "Orsogna Mas", Queens. Carlucci works at Morgan Stanley in Wall Street, and lost 10 colleagues. Commemoration also in Colledimezzo for Marisa Di Nardo.

Bosco Martese 58 years ago / La culla della Resistenza 58 anni fa, by Anna Fusaro
On 25 september 1943 at Bosco Martese there was the first battle of the Partisans against Nazi armies. In the previous days they collected weapons and ammunitions and started to gather in the Bosco Martese. There were men of all ages and conditions. They were attacked by German troops on the 25th, but the Resistance prevailed. The struggle continued for nine months, until Teramo was free, on 13 june 1944.

Introdacqua - School named after Pascal D'Angelo / Intitolata al poeta la scuola, by Barbara Zarrillo
The elementary school was named after Pascal D'Angelo, the Italian American poet born in Introdacqua who emigrated to America when still very young. The mayor of Introdacqua asked the heirs permission to restore the poet's native home and make it into a museum of folk traditions.
