Elisa Moscardi was the last living witness of Mussolini's imprisonment in Campo Imperatore, after the death of Ugo Marinucci, Domenico Antonelli and Remo Lalli. Mussolini was a prisoner of the Allied Forces from 28 august 1943 at the “Villetta" up to 6 september, then was taken by cableway to the Savoia hotel in Campo Imperatore. Their he was assisted by young waitress Elisa Moscardi, hotel manager Domenico Antonelli and the cableway technician Remo Lalli. Elisa Moscardi always declared in interviews that Mussolini behaved as a real gentleman to them all.
