Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2000, made by the Citra winery, was judged as the best among 8,000 wines categorized by taste, number of bottles and price. Therefore it was included in the renowned Guida Maroni, due for presentation at the Salone del Vino, Turin.

Prezza - Yesterday funeral for nonno Domenico / Ieri l'addio a nonno Domenico
A long train of people yesterday for the farewell to Domenico Forgione, deceased at 107 years old, the oldest man in Abruzzo. Also a great many people who did not even know him. Domenico Forgione was born in Prezza on 19 august 1894, he retired from his job as a farmer at 80 after he had fallen from a tree during the olive harvest. He was a Cavaliere di Vittorio Veneto, and last 8 september he underwent surgery for a bone fracture.

Marcinelle - Lettomanoppello wants another twinship / Un altro gemellaggio con Charleroi, by Emanuela Montanari
Giuliano Di Pietrantonio, the President of the Association "Minatori-vittime Bois du Cazier", is sorry that Lettomanoppello could not be included in the twinship this time. The Association was founded by three municipalities, Lettomanoppello, Manoppello and Turrivalignani. A new twinship program will be therefore started soon.
