MESSAGGERO - Liver donation authorized by relative abroad / La donazione di fegato consentita dall’unico parente all’estero
The other night in Pescara hospital doctors were waiting for the authorization to take a liver needed for a transplant from a deceased patient. The unknown donor had no relatives in Italy, only a brother residing in Venezuela. With the help of Italian Telecom finally the brother was found, and through the Consulate the much awaited authorization was faxed.

Rosita Di Antonio, a cuisine master and writer, recommends to choose high quality ingredients, and above all a great extra-virgine olive oil. In her book she collects local recipes like the "sfogliatelle di Bisenti", "canzanese" di Canzano, the sauce based on wild flannel typical of Torano Nuovo, the "stoccafisso di Corropoli". Her lessons were also held in the oil farm of the Domenicantonio family, Ponzano.

An exhibition with five hundred photographs from 1885 telling the story of the emigration from Orsogna to the States will be held this week-end in the seat of the Orsogna Mutual Aid Society, New York, with the co-operation of the "John D. Calandra Italian American Institute", "Queens College" and the "Italian American Museum".
