MESSAGGERO - Rocca di Mezzo - Visit of the Italian President / Ciampi, visita a sorpresa
Dressed in a warm jacket, wool gloves, white scarf and sunglasses, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi strolled in the square with wife and children, then had lunch at "La Fiorita". After lunch he met the lcoal administrators. Time ago, when he was the Governor of the Banca d'Italia, he purchased an apartment in the mountain resort.

Celebrations yesterday for the 75 years of Pescara, born when Castellamare (in the left bank of the Pescara river) and ancient Pescara (on the right bank)were united in one municipality, and the new province established.
