MESSAGGERO - Scanno - The lake completely covered by ice / Il lago è completamente ghiacciato, by Antonio Mancini
After a great many years, the surface of Lake of Scanno is once again completely frozen. It happened in 1901, 1911, 1925, then in the hard 1956 winter, and finally in 1981, when also an old "cinquecento" drove from side to side. There are many legends on the event. Tradition is that the lake freezes in the first winter of a new century. The view, especially in the sun and at night, is absolutely spectacular.

Gioia dei Marsi - Abruzzo is in my heart / «L'Abruzzo nel cuore», by Giuliano Di Tanna
Italian film director Lina Wertmüller will teach in a theater course at Gioia dei Marsi. Abruzzo is one of her most beautiful memories, since when as a teenager she spent the summers in the family home in Francavilla. Ms Wertmüller will lecture on the relationships among literature, cinema and theater. She does not believe in a crisis of the Italian film industry, which has great personalities, but the real problem is in the distribution, which privileges American movies.
