BUENOS AIRES - The love story between Italian anarchist Severino Di Giovanni, who fled from Chieti, Italy, when Fascism took over to be executed in Buenos Aires in 1931, and a Calabrese young girl is again in the news. The Argentinian government gives back to 86-year-old fiancee Giuseppina America Scarfò her beloved's letters in a moving ceremony held in the Casa rosada. In Argentina Di Giovanni organized violent protests on the execution of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti in Charlestown in 1927.

CITTA’ SANT’ANGELO — Great success of the 4th exhibition of contemporary art, centred on the angel's cult this year, hosted in the S. Michele Arcangelo's cathedral, with historical works of art and contemporary works from 20 international artists. The exhibitio, called "Il Luogo degli Angeli", will be open up to 24 August, when it will be moved to Lucca.

From Monday to 11 August the first international festival of the comic movie will be held in Pianella on 2, 3, 7 and 10 August and in Spoltore on the 5 and 6. In the program a short Oliver/Hardy piece, never shown before, unforgettable Peter Seller in the Pink Panther and Abruzzese Alberto De Merolis, Sergio Sciarra, Simona Piattella and Nico Savino.

MESSAGGERO - Here is "Adriatic Boats and People" - The Abruzzese Paranza on show / Ecco ”Barche e gente dell’Adriatico” La Paranza abruzzese in una mostra
An exhibition of old models and photos organized by bookshop "Il mare" in via Piave and association "La Paranza" (a paranza was the typical boat of the adriatic), concentrating on the names given to the boats and the symbols painted on the prows.

MESSAGGERO - ESTATE DOVE - Solisti aquilani, via al festival
At 21.30 on Monday evening in the Spanish Fortress, L'Aquila, inauguration of "Abruzzo Musica" festival with the "Solisti Aquilani" directed by maestro Vittorio Antonellini with musics by J. S. Bach. In the orchestra along with musicians Ettore Pellegrino, Elizabeth Bruni, Melanie Budde, Irene Tella, Juditha Hamza, Cataldo De Palma (violins), Stefano Morgione, Silvio Di Rocco (violas), Vito Vallini, Massimo Magri (violoncelli), Massimo Giorgi (bass guitar), also three clavier players from Milan: Sauro Argalia, Marco Farolfi e Maria Cristina Garbuglia. Altogether 8 concerts throughout the month.

After the important excavations by Prof. Emanuela Fabbricotti from the "G.d’Annunzio" University, province president Mauro Febbo and Abruzzo Archaeologic Soprintendente Anna Maria Sestieri announced in the next few months procedures for an Archaeological Museum in Juvanum will be started.
