The Department of Culture informs: the Park will be included among the Unesco protected sectors / Dal ministero «Parco iscritto al patrimonio dell'Unesco»
The Parco nazionale d'Abruzzo, like the historical centres of Assisi and Verona and the Basilica di San Francesco has been included in the Unesco list of mankind's treasures. This means also funds will be granted for its safeguard. In the Park there are two animals that cannot be found anywhere else in the world: the Abruzzese chamois and Marsian brown bear.

Nobel Prize Saramago in Penne to meet the students / Il Nobel Saramago a Penne - Lo scrittore martedì in città - Incontrerà anche gli studenti

On 28 september Josè Saramago will attend in Penne a cultural meeting. The first Portuguese writer to be awarded a Nobel prize, Saramago was invited by the Premio Penne committee, and is now busy in East Timor (Indonesia) in search of a peace agreement. Also Cnn will attend. Saramago will receive a silver medal and the first copy of a serigraphy by artist Mario Costantini.
