MESSAGGERO - A San Giovanni scholar suggests solutions for the ancient monastery against its use for an ex-drug-addict community: let it be a museum for military chaplains / Uno studioso umbro di San Giovanni lancia l'allarme e suggerisce soluzioni per utilizzare l'antico complesso - Comunità di recupero in convento «La struttura di Capestrano diventi invece museo dei cappellani militari» , by Federica Farda
Filippo De Marchis has been searching for years to find the remains of St John from Capestrano, which disappeared from the monastery of Ilok. He now speaks against the project to use the monastery in Capestrano as a center for former drug-addicts. De Marchis is afraid the precious library will be disassembled. He suggests different solutions to finance the upkeep of the monastery: a twinship with all places in the world connected to Saint John, a project to create a world museum for military chaplains, a twinship with Hungary, whose 1956 revolution started on 23 october, the saint's festivity, or also a congress centre.

IL CENTRO - Roccacasale celebrates Fra' Mariano whose relics return this afternoon / Comunità in festa per il beato Fra' Mariano - Roccacasale, il ritorno della reliquia è atteso nel pomeriggio , by Claudio Lattanzio
Pope John Paul II underlined the shepherd-friar's example as a model for hospitality when yesterday morning in St Peter's Church he was proclaimed a Blessed, with other 2 Franciscans and three humble parish priests, "workers" of the faith. Roccacasale's mayor says the event is exceptional for the small Abruzzese village. This afternoon a great celebration to welcome the relics of the Blessed friar.
