22 November/novembre 1999 MESSAGGERO - Thirty documentary films on nature in four days / Saranno proiettati trenta documentari in quattro giorni - Festival del cinema naturalistico President Antonio Falconio will inaugurate today the first edition of the Nature and environment cinema festival for original works on the following themes: Italians in Antarctica and Archeology and Environment. Three prizes will be awarded, one by the public, a second in memory of padre Natale Cavatassi and the third to a young director. 22 November/novembre 1999 IL CENTRO - ARIELLI - Young poet wins a national prize / Giovane poeta di Arielli vince un premio nazionale Maurizio Sciocchetti wins the young poets section at the "Aldo Spallucci" poetry prize in Castrocaro terme. Maurizio is 20 years old has been writing poems since he was a child. His style is simple, dealing with solitude, life's vanity and social aridity. 22 November/novembre 1999 IL CENTRO - FURCI - A Green municipality for a green policy / «La natura è il nostro tesoro» - Furci si scopre Comune verde Mayor Filippo Cianciosi has chosen «Furci, il cuore verde del Vastese» for the plaque with the municipality name. The green municipality (mayor and four out of nine counsellors are from the Green party) have closed the garbage dump in the territory, and started a program to plant trees all around. The Vastese territory has a landscape of wonderful natural beauty and garbage dumps were ruining everything. With this program Furci wants to become an environmentalist's oasis..
